and more

who are we?

Niyodo Adventure is owned by us, Norihiro and Zoé. We are a Japanadian couple passionate about the outdoors. Our goal with the company is to get people more into their bodies and to experience Kochi prefecture's nature whilst adding a bit of challenge.

What inspired us to start Niyodo Adventure is to see the Nakatsu gorge and the Niyodo river. We thought : " Someone should start a company here! It's so beautiful and easy to access! ''. And so we did.

With more than 15 years experience on and in the water, you are in good hands!

FAQ

q. What should I bring?

A. For all of our tours, you only need to bring your swimsuit and towel. If you wish to use your own waterproof camera (e.g. GoPro) we have mounts on some helmets.

q. can I pay with a credit card?

A. You can pay with your credit card when you book the tour in our booking system linked above. If you would like to pay cash at the premises, please book directly with us through email or phone.

q. what if it rains?

A. We operate on a 'cutoff' system. The rain itself will not prevent a tour from happening but if the river's water levels rise too high, the tour might have to be cancelled or changed for rafting tour. We will contact you if this happens.

q. what skills do I need?

A. You will need basic swimming skills for all our tours except family tours. Our packrafting and canyoning tours are designed for first timers but keep in mind that it can be challenging! If you are worried, do not hesitate to reach out.

q. What if a tour gets cancelled?

A. If we have to cancel a tour, we will reach out to you the day before and offer to either change the type of tour if available, book another day or refund your activity.

q. Do I need a car to visit Niyodo Adventure?

A. A car is recommended because public transportation in the Niyodo River area is limited. Shuttle pickup from nearby stations or accommodations may be available if arranged in advance.

q. Do you offer shuttle service?

A. Yes. Shuttle pickup can be arranged from selected locations for an additional fee, depending on availability. Please contact us before booking.

q. Can cruise ship passengers join a tour?

A. Possibly. We may be able to arrange pickup from Kochi cruise port if our schedule allows. Please contact us in advance with your ship schedule.

q. Can I combine this with other outdoor activities in Shikoku?

A. Yes. Many visitors combine our tours with rafting on the Yoshino River, surfing in Shimanto, hiking, or exploring the Niyodo River area.

q. Are the tours beginner-friendly?

A. Yes, no experience is required except for swimming skills. We provide all equipment and safety instruction.

q. What is the best time of year to visit?
