Canyoning & Packrafting Guide | Niyodo Adventure

We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic guides to join our team for the summer 2026 season.

About the role:

As a canyoning & packrafting guide, you’ll lead guests through unforgettable river adventures, sharing your passion for nature while keeping safety at the heart of everything you do. We provide training and support to help you grow into the role.

Key responsibilities & duties:

• Guide canyoning and packrafting tours for guests of all backgrounds

• Ensure guest safety through proper risk management and decision-making

• Deliver clear safety briefings and instructions

• Assist guests in the water and build confidence in challenging environments

• Prepare, maintain, and care for technical and safety equipment

• Assess weather, river, and environmental conditions

• Support daily operations, including setup, pack-down, and logistics

• Create a welcoming, fun, and professional atmosphere for guests

• Work closely with the rest of the team.

• Represent Niyodo Adventure with professionalism and respect for local culture

 

We’re looking for someone who:

 

• Has guiding experience or strong outdoor enthusiasm

• Is a confident swimmer with strong water skills

• Is physically fit and comfortable in dynamic outdoor environments

• Enjoys working with people and delivering great guest experiences Is adaptable and open to life in the Japanese countryside Holds a valid working visa for Japan (required)

• Has a positive attitude and a strong willingness to learn Is safety-focused, reliable, and responsible

• Respects nature and local communities

• Spoken English and basic Japanese.

 

Location: Niyodo River area, Kochi Prefecture

 

Training provided | Seasonal position | Staff accomodation available
