packrafting
Packrafting is such a fun way to experience beautiful Shikoku and especially the Niyodo River.
It is gentle enough that unexperienced paddlers can safely learn and enjoy the trip and challenging enough to
get your adrenaline up and for you to feel like you've pushed yourself in your time with us.
This tour is around 2 to 2:30 hours. You will go through grade 2 rapids but if any rapid seems too daunting,
it is always possible to skip parts of the tour or do them twice in the case you loved it.
We are looking forward to paddling with you!
A portion of the tour fee will be used for nature conservation in the Niyodo River area, cleaning and repairing tourist attractions, etc.
A pack-raft is an inflatable kayak. It is much more stable and way easier to carry. Our pack-rafting trips require participants to control their own boat ( 1 person per boat ). We go through grade 2 sections and we do go to a few rapids. But *you do not need to have prior kayaking experience* - You must, however, know how to swim and be comfortable in the water. Flips do happen but in a safe environment.
due to a change in booking system, we are experiencing bugs with some credit cards payments. if you have this issue, please reach out to us.
canoe, sup, sea kayak, rafting packraft what is different?
Canoe and sup are done on calmer water and doing a ''loop''.
Sea kayaking is done in the ocean - the boat is rigid and sturdy.
Rafting is done with many people in the same boat.
Packrafting is a small individual inflatable boat.
Our packrafting tour is going down the river for around 4 km and going to a few little rapids. It is a more active activity and is done on a section of the river where no other company goes to.

what if the tour is cancelled due to high water levels?
If the tour has to be cancelled for safety concerns, we will message you the day prior. The reason why we cannot message people earlier is because conditions change very fast. Sometimes, the levels are too high for packrafting but perfect for rafting. If that is the case, we will give you the option to change your tour for a rafting tour. The rafting tour is only available when such conditions happen.
